Attendance Protocol

Students are expected to attend and be on time for every class, every day, for every semester. Students arriving late are expected to go directly to class.

Fifty percent (50%) of a student’s mark in each class is based on daily attendance, behaviour, preparation and participation.

We ask parents/guardians to notify the school if a student has to be away (523 3300). The CAP Teacher will call home to check on the student absence. If a CAP teacher is unable to reach the parent/guardian the student is referred to our Attendance Team. The Attendance Team will attempt to contact the parent/guardian either by phone or a home visit. Continuous home visit attempts will be made over a period of 20 days. If the Attendance Team is unsuccessful in its attempt to meet with the parent/guardian, and the student has been absent for 20 days, the student will then be withdrawn from registration at Cochrane for the semester.
