Welding/Metal Trades
The Welding/Machine shop at Cochrane is well equipped and able to teach most types of welding used in industry today. Students learn about shop safety, how to use hand tools, power tools, and various other machines such as grinder, drills, buffers, plasma cutter, electric and gas welders, as well as fabrication and learning to make plans for different projects. Each level has academic and practical components. Each level also encourages independent learning as well as problem solving techniques that are part of this trade.
