GOAL: To establish a consistent procedure for dealing with students who use profane language or display serious lack of respect to another individual. PLAN: 1. If students use profane language staff will correct them for this and then record their name and date in the incident binder. 2. Once a student’s name appears in the incident binder three times the student is placed on DNA (Do not admit) by the teacher recording the third offence. The Vice-Principal will meet with the student, give a warning and make contact with home. 3. On the fourth offence students will be called to the office and suspended for one day. Students using profanity thereafter will continually be suspended. If the behaviour still persists a meeting with the parents/guardian will be set-up. 4. A serious situation of disrespect by a student to another individual will require intervention by any or all of the following: the vice-principal, principal, guidance counselor, teacher, parent/guardian and student. Conflict resolution needs to happen between the student and the victim with assistance from the resource people listed above. The student may be suspended. |
